What a Weekend!

This weekend was the most jam packed weekend we have had in a long time, and boy are we all exhausted! Friday night we went to my sister's art opening at a gallery in the town we live in, which also has a "festival" (for lack of a better word) every fourth Friday of the month. My parents came to the opening, so we were able to walk around the "festival" with them. They had food stands and music, stores on main street stayed open late, and they had fire trucks and ambulances out for the kids to explore! My kids LOVED it. They both could not get enough of trying out every seat in every truck! We got some pretty cute pictures, and they look so small sitting in those big seats. I'll post them later, when I download the camera. They were pretty exhausted and slept well that night.

On Saturday, we had cousin Matthew's first birthday celebration to get to. We left early enough so we could fit in a visit at Grammy and Grandpaw's house before the party. Then we headed over to see Uncle Jess and Aunt Megan's new apartment that they'll be moving into after the wedding! It was fun to see, and brought back memories for Jeff and I of looking forward to getting to live together finally after we got married. Noah and Wyatt had a great time running around the big, empty apartment for a good half hour! I'm sure it was enough for the new neighbors to worry about who was moving in!! :)

We had a great time at the party Saturday evening. Noah and Wyatt enjoyed running around with the other kids, especially the bouncy "thing" and the pinata. They also enjoyed the yummy allergy free cake!! Thanks Aunt Jill!! :) After filling our bellies with great food, and watching Mattie open our gift, we had to head back home. Somehow, in 5 hours of driving all day, Noah stayed awake the entire time. Again, we all slept very well!!

Sunday, our weekend continued! Guima and Papa had spent Saturday with Anne and Tristan, and they were all coming over to our house. We had fun lounging by the kiddie pool under the tree in the backyard in the 90 degree weather!! Way too hot, if you ask me! We had the typical Memorial day cookout mid-afternoon, with more lounging after that. Then we all went out for ice cream (and sorbet for Noah and Wyatt). Yummy!! My parents left for home after that, and Anne and Tristan left too. Our exhausted children were in bed by 7:45, and I took a nice hour long nap before I had to go into work for the night. What a long night that was!

Finally, Monday, after sleeping most of the day, we had a cookout to go to at our new friend's house (Noah's friend Abby). His friend Hannah, also from preschool, and her family came too. They all had such a great time playing together. All of them have one younger brother, Wyatt is the youngest at 17 months, Abby's brother William will be 2 this month, and Hannah's brother will be 3 this summer. It was a nice relaxing time, and we ended up hanging out there until 9! Another late night, but what a great weekend.

Everyone is still recovering, and I think it will be a few more days before everyone is completely back to normal. Wyatt was pretty cranky today because I had to wake him up from his nap to pick up Noah at school. So, after much crabbiness most of the afternoon, Wyatt went to bed at 6:45 tonight, and Noah was asking me if he could go to bed at 7:30!! So, I think it will be an early night for all of us.

Only one more day of school left, and then summer officially begins for us here! Hope everyone had a great long weekend!!
