Noah-time

Yesterday was a snuggly day for Noah. While Wyatt was napping, Noah and I cuddled. It was nice because we didn't really have anything to do yesterday, besides catch up on laundry. I think he needed it. He has been so bad lately, and, as usual, I think it was a cry for attention. So, yesterday, he got it. We talked a lot. It is amazing how far he has come in just a year too. He can carry on a very normal conversation for quite a long time. It is amazing the things that he catches in everyday things he hears, he is like a sponge!

We talked about babies (because there was a pregnant lady on TV). He remembered when Wyatt was in Mommy's tummy. I asked him if he wanted another baby someday (no, I am not trying to tell anyone anything, not ready for that again yet!). He told me that he wants a sister. Then I asked him what he would name a sister. Guess what he said???? Jesus! :) Oh he makes me laugh. They just learned about Jesus' birth story during chapel time at preschool on Thursday.

After Wyatt's party this past weekend, Tristan was here and wanted to play chess with Uncle Jeff. He is in kindergarten, and already in a chess club. Well, Noah was very interested and can't wait to learn how to play. I tried to play with him, the pretend way, since chess is something I have never learned how to play...maybe I'll have to learn now. We played checkers instead. So, first thing this morning, he asked Daddy if he would play "chest" with him. That is what they have spent their morning doing so far! He is actually catching on, I think?! He is so into games lately.

The other exciting news in Noah's life is his first invitation to a friend's birthday party! He is so excited to go to Kevin's party. I was excited because his mom included an itinerary to the party (at an indoor playgroud place), and said she would provide Rice Dream ice cream and dairy-free cake for Noah! It is so nice to see that other people are concerned about including him. Kevin's mom and I exchanged cake recipes, and she even asked if Noah wanted to come over to play sometime, Kevin has been asking for a while now. It is so fun to see him making friends! Another boy in his class, Andrew, impressed me when he brought snack for the class. He told his mom that he wanted to find a snack that Noah could eat too. It amazes me that 3/4 year olds have that much compassion for each other, or even understand that Noah can't eat everything that everyone else eats. It gives me hope that this next generation of kids could be better, maybe a little more respectful of each other, than the current generation of teenagers! Who knows?

As Noah laid next to me this morning in my bed watching cartoons, we were looking at his big feet and talking about how big he was getting. He told me that he was going to be taller than Mommy and Daddy when he grew up, but NOT taller than Uncle Jess! Thank goodness, he won't have to duck to give his Mom a hug! Happy Saturday. :)

Sounds like you and Noah had a great day together. You really need to work hard sometimes to find that time for each one individually. Not always an easy thing to do. Sneak them in when you can!!
Wish I were closer to help out.
