Long Lost Update

Last night, as we were eating dinner, we were all talking about our fun weekend. Noah and Wyatt were doing great eating their dinners without being told to eat, over and over again. I mentioned that in the freezer we had some yummy treats for after dinner. Wyatt wanted to know what I was talking about, so I told him, "Fudge Pops." Wyatt then shouted, "I want a Sponge Bob!!" So, from now on at our house, I believe fudge pops have a new name! He thought it was SO funny when he found out what they were really called!

We did have a great weekend. Saturday morning, Noah had soccer pictures and then a game an hour later. He seems to be liking soccer, although he has a hard time getting to the ball in time! He isn't really sure what to do once he gets the ball near him. And he has noticed that when a ball is by him, that means a lot of kids will soon follow! He is having fun though.

After soccer, we had planned to get some yard work done, but it started to rain, and didn't look like it would be stopping anytime soon. So, we took the kids to see the "Horton" movie and then out to dinner afterwards. We all enjoyed the movie. Then we went out to a restaurant!

Some of you may not understand how big of a deal this was to us...it was the first time we have gone to a restaurant without bringing our own meals along for the boys! We didn't even have any back up food with us. So, we got there and informed our server that they both have peanut and tree nut allergies, and have recently outgrown milk and egg allergies. We got the official ingredient binder to go through for all their menu items (it was very disorganized, and hard to find anything). Noah wanted a hamburger and fries, and Wyatt wanted chicken fingers and applesauce. So we put in our order. Minutes later the manager came out to talk to us. The fries may be fried in the same oil as other items that may not be safe...Noah decided on applesauce too. The chicken fingers had a slight chance of also being exposed...Wyatt, being a 3 year old, started to throw a tantrum, so we decided to risk it and stick with the chicken fingers. Much to his dismay, Noah's hamburger came out with cheese on it (he thinks that he doesn't like cheese). We convinced him to try it, and he LOVED it! Wyatt "ate" his food (one chicken finger) and did fine! So, overall, I'd say it was a success! It is great to have that choice open to us now.

Yesterday, we cleaned out the garage. Very exciting, I know. But Jeff and I felt great after seeing it all cleaned out and more organized when we were done! Now, as Jeff said, "Think that can last another 5 years?!"

So, since I have been missing from this blog for a while, here is a little update of what has happened lately:

  • We had a nice Easter at Guima and Papa's house, with Aunt Anne and Tristan too. The boys had a great time on their egg hunt!
  • Noah turned 6 (yes, 6, more than one hand of fingers...that seems so much older than 5).
  • We had his friend party at our house this year, and despite the noise level and a little chaos, it was pretty fun! He then got to celebrate again with our little family on his actual birthday, and with Grammy and Grandpaw, aunts, uncles, and cousins the following weekend. Lucky kid!!
  • Noah has lost a second tooth (no longer does he have shark teeth, as his dentist called them, two rows of teeth on the bottom!)
  • Wyatt still LOVES wearing diapers, but he knows if he wants to go to preschool at the end of August, he has to go on the potty. And he keeps telling us he is going to preschool!
  • My children have become quite obsessed with playing Mario on the Wii, Star Wars and "life savers," and love the "Chick-munks." I believe that their boy colors are shining through!

Aunt Megan and Uncle Jess :)
