How has summer gone by so fast? Maybe because we have been on the go the whole time! I am actually thinking it may be a little less busy once school starts again!
Last night was parent night at preschool. After seeing Noah's favorite teacher, Mrs. Shields, again, and being at the school, I think I am ready for him to go back. Noah is really excited to have the same teacher again, and is counting down the days until he starts again. Next Wednesday is his first day with me, and then Friday is his first day by himself. He will be 3 half-days a week this year, M-W-F, which he is looking forward to. I think he is getting bored here, and Wyatt definitely could use some alone time with me (although, preschool does fall right into naptime). I'll have to update once school has started again about how things are going! Hard to believe that this time next year my baby will be starting kindergarten!!...
...Noah, you just keep growing up too fast. You keep reminding me in your own little ways how grown up you really are getting. The other night at dinner, you told me in an all-too-serious "big boy" voice, "Mommy, for dinner, breakfast, and lunch, I don't want you to give me these bowls (divided plates) anymore. I want my food on big plates like you and Daddy." And boy, do you remind me if I forget. You finally want to drink out of cups with no lids (Thanks, Aunt Bonnie for the COOL Noah cup! It has worked wonders in the interest department!!).
You have learned so much in the past year, and you are developing quite the funny personality. You are learning how to make friends, and have become much more social than you were this time last year. You are so funny too, trying to make us laugh all the time! You are a big goof ball!! :) You have figured out how to read books this summer, and did the summer reading program at the library reading 24 whole hours over the summer!! It was fun to watch you figure out that you could read things for yourself. You amaze us, buddy!
Noah, you make us so proud. You have such good manners (most of the time), and always asks Daddy at dinner, "How was your day today, Daddy?" Please, thank you, excuse me, I'm sorry all come pretty easily to you these days, and you are turning into a pretty polite little boy. You are really thoughtful and empathetic for a 4 year old. When you found out Gigi, your great grandma, was sick, the first thing you wanted to do was draw her a pretty picture to make her feel better. You spent hours working on that beautiful, happy picture (Just so you know, Papa says it is hanging on her wall, and she loves your drawing!).
Of course, you are not perfect(I would never expect you to be), you have your typical four-year-old moments, attitudes, tantrums, and all. But overall, you are such a good kid, and I couldn't ask for anything more! Daddy and I are so lucky to be your parents. You try so hard to be a big boy, and I think you sometimes forget that you are a little kid, and a good snuggle from Mommy or Daddy can still make you feel better. Don't grow up too fast, my little sweetie!! I know we have so much to look forward to in the future, but I'm not quite ready for you to be a big kid all the time yet! Mommy will always love you Noah-bear!

Yeah, he certainly had his moments this summer when I witnessed his temper, but those were few and far between. Most of the time he was a super fun little boy to hang out with and play with! I'm so lucky I got to spend time with my awesome nephews this summer! Now that I am back and teaching English to kids their same age, it makes me really miss them!! But I'll be back and see them soon...don't let them grow up too much before I get there!

We'll try...if only I could figure out how to slow things down!
