Our weekend away went great! The kids did really well for my parents, and Jeff and I enjoyed our time alone. It was nice to reconnect and have some peace and quiet, even if only for a day and a half! We realized on the first morning when we woke up, that we actually missed the little stinkers. It surprised both of us, since we were both looking SO forward to being away from them for a little while. I think, by the looks and sounds of it, that we missed them more than they missed us! I guess that is okay. That just means we can do it again! :)
It was nice to get kind of re-energized to come back and take care of them. I think maybe I am just a little bit more patient with all of their antics after my little break. Hope that will continue after we have been back for a while longer. We did decide that we would both be better parents if we got out (together) more. Our goal is date night once a month, hoping that is attainable, then we'll go for a little bit more! We also are going to try to give each other breaks away every now and then (not just to go grocery shopping). We'll see how that plan goes!
The stinkin' cold bug is still hanging out here. Both kids have a dripping faucet nose and yukky coughs. Poor Wyatt spent most of the night and his nap this afternoon coughing. Noah's cough seems to be a little better. I called the Dr's office, because I was going to reschedule their second round of the flu shot for a third time, and they told me just to bring them in and get the shots done. They are predicting that next month's illnesses are going to be even worse. So, as long as neither of them had a fever over 101 or wheezing, it was okay to get their shot. Against my better judgement of beating them while they are down, I took them for their shots this morning...fingers crossed that neither of them gets any worse! So far so good! I hate having to make those "mom" decisions sometimes.
Poor Jeff had to come home early from work today, after a big presentation to his bosses, because he was feeling so bad. Here's hoping that I can keep it away from me!!! Say a little prayer please! :)
Well, the kids have been hanging on Jeff since he got home, should go and let him get a little rest. Will post some new pics soon.

Kate, I've really enjoyed reading your blog entries and seeing all the photos of the boys!
Congratulations for getting away and what a great gift from your mom and dad to watch the boys!
Date night sounds like a good plan......put it on the calendar and stick with it!
You, Jeff, and the boys all need for you two to have a fabulous relationship!
