Halloween 2007

Happy Halloween! The boys had such a great time, and what a long day. Woody and Buzz were a big hit, and such great costumes (thank you to my talented mom....thanks, Guima). :) The day started out with a class party in Noah's kindergarten class that lasted the entire 2 1/2 hours. That went really well, and all of the seven or so Moms that worked to plan it did a great job finding enough to keep them entertained for that long! I was in charge of bringing in the sugar cookies and frosting (since I have the kid with the food allergies). They carved a pumpkin as a class, heard a couple of fun stories, played musical pumpkins, dug through pumpkin guts (spaghetti in pumpkin buckets) for a gooey eyeball, decorated cookies, made ghost suckers, did a mummy wrap with toilet paper, and did a parade around all the classrooms in the school. Quite an eventful morning! They had so much fun.

Then I had two pretty tired boys when we got home. So we had lunch and relaxed most of the afternoon, until it was time to get back into costumes after an early dinner. It was so strange starting trick-or-treating when it is still light outside! Jeff decided to stay home and pass out candy, while I took the boys out.

After attempting a Halloween costume photo session, we got started trick-or-treating around 6ish. We were out for probably 20 minutes and they were both complaining that their treat buckets were too heavy already! So, we stopped back at home, thinking maybe we were done. But no, after finding what candy they got that was safe for them, and dumping the rest in our "to pass back out" basket, they were ready for more.

Wyatt made it to probably an hour of walking, and then he was done. Of course, we weren't close enough to home to just drop him off. So, I carried him the rest of the way as they gathered more candy. All in all, it was an hour and a half of trick-or-treating. And by the time we got home, they were exhausted. Well, that is until they each ate/snuck enough candy to re-energize for the night!!
