Noah's Sad Day

Yesterday was a sad day for my big boy. It was not only his last day of preschool for the year, but we also had to let his butterflies go that he has been taking care of since they were just caterpillars. Before we left for school for the day, we took the butterflies, named 'Boo' (Wyatt's) and 'Goog' (Noah's), outside to let them go. He said his goodbyes, then opened up the box and watched them fly away. He was very concerned later in the day when it was pouring down rain that his butterflies wouldn't like the rain and get wet. I reassured him that they probably found a nice dry spot to hide until the rain was gone. Poor butterflies are probably still hiding though, since it is STILL raining!

Then it was time for Noah's big day, Noah graduated from his 3 year old preschool class! The parents all came back to school a half hour early to watch them receive their "diplomas." Mrs. Shields said something nice about each one of the kids, gave them a diploma, some books, a goodie bag, and a hug. Poor Noah is just so sad that school is over. He was (quietly) crying most of the time after he got his diploma, and snuggling in my lap. I keep telling him that we'll be seeing all of his friends this summer, and even his teacher, and really September isn't that far away. I guess I should only hope that he likes school this much in a couple of years, huh?! :) Mrs. Shields saw how sad he was and snuggled with him for a while and told him how excited she was that he would be in her class next year. I am happy about my decision to keep him with the same teacher, he just does so well with her. And here is my big boy a year after hesitantly starting preschool, he's grown so much!!

Then to Now....
